With the farmhouse look all the rage, we decided to upcycle some of our leftover corrugated metal from our DIY firepit and several plastic coffee containers laying around to make these cute little planters.
These are the up-cycled materials that we used. (I know, it’s a lot of stuff. LOL!)
We cut the metal with tin snips to the right height and width to fit snug around the coffee jug. We then used a file to clean up the edges.
We spot welded the side together. (We each made one because I wanted to use the spot welder, too! LOL!) You could also drill holes and use nuts and bolts to secure the sides.
I drilled some drainage holes and spray painted the jugs black (not shown.) I, then, just slid the metal over it.
Because we live in Wyoming, and winter seems to last forever, we are not able to plant live plants and use outside, yet. So, I am enjoying them inside with some fake greenery until summer comes. I LOVE how these turned out! Now who’s ready to make their own farmhouse style planters?
