Hello guys! Welcome to my Christmas 2021 living room decor tour. I had to scale back my decor this year because I have the honor of watching my grandson during the day and he is now 19 months old. If you are a parent or grandparent I am sure you know why. LOL!
I am going to start with my Christmas tree. I had to purchase a smaller one this year because my old one took up too much of the walk-way. The tree I purchased came from Michaels. It’s 7 foot tall and came pre-lit. I opted for a simple green one, as opposed to a flocked one. Price was key for me because…have you seen the price of trees this year?! This one cost just under $100.
I added one strand of twinkle lights near the trunk of the tree to add a little extra sparkle. I also added about 600 more lights. I really love a brightly lit tree! The rest of the decor was just a mix of shatter-proof bulbs in clear, silver, gold, white, black, red, and copper. The ornaments were purchased over time from places like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Walmart. I added several greenery picks that had flocking on them (Michaels) and also sparkly white picks (Hobby Lobby.)
I used a champagne colored ribbon and long red berry picks, both from Hobby Lobby. I think what really makes the tree is the eucalyptus and fairy lights!! My tree topper consists of winter branch picks, a bow, and a simple Noel ornament.
Moving from my tree to my pellet stove area.
I recently added a board and batten treatment behind the stove. I added some greenery, lights, picks and a mercury glass garland that I purchased from Michaels last year. Also, I can’t forget the stockings! I dIY’ed the name tags a couple years ago. I did use nails to secure the greenery and stockings.
My grandson is really into John Deere tractors, so I found a stocking that he loves! And, I love it, too!
The barn picture was a new purchase this year from Hobby Lobby. The clock was a DIY.
I kept my ottoman simple. I used a mirror from Hobby Lobby as a tray to hold a lantern and mercury glass candle (Michaels), a tree, and I layered in a small wreath from Target. My flame less candles are from Amazon. By using a tray, I can remove this from my ottoman easily when my grandson comes over.
The “Joy” pillow came from Hobby Lobby, but it was so over stuffed and hard, I cut the bottom seam and removed a lot of the stuffing to make it softer. I used Heat and Bond Hem Tape to close it back. The plaid pillow is a cover from Hobby Lobby, too. The throw is a recent purchase from Target. This is probably one of the softest throw blankets I have ever had! And it was only $15!
I
I found this gorgeous deer candle from Big Lots last year. It’s the Broyhill brand.
I purchased that skinny pencil tree from Menards a few years ago, but this corner is a new location. It spent the previous years as my dining room tree. The Santa and Frosty were given to us this year from a family friend. MJ has enjoyed them so much!!
I purchased a new mirror for my dining room, so this mirror you see here was extra. I placed it behind the tree and it really added more light from the reflection! Another thing I did here that you can’t see, I elevated the tree with books inside this Target basket. It makes the tree look more substantial. I added a blanket inside the basket to hide the books and tree holder.
I have a ledge that runs along the top of my TV wall. Sometimes I’m not sure if I should put anything up there. It’s hard to decorate without it looking cluttered. I did add some greenery, a couple pieces of pottery with picks, red berried, and pine cones. The “Joy” sign came from Hobby Lobby.
On the left side of the ledge, I added a wire lantern with my flame-less candles.
On the right side, I added wire trees and a couple ornaments.
I added a couple wintery throws to my DIY blanket ladder. I wish I could remember where I purchased the green tree throw.
Thank you all so very much and I hope you have the Merriest Merry Christmas!!
